Cost: $15 per program per child

 

The Museum of the White Mountains is partnering with Community Education at Plymouth State University to offer a variety of fun-filled and enriching programs for children of all ages this August! Workshops foster imagination and exploration through hands-on activities designed to encourage kids to imagine, create, and shareEach program runs for two hours and costs $15 per child. Children can attend more than one workshop; selections can be made below. Please fill out one form per child.

Pop Up Exhibit! Build an Art Show in One Day
August 1, 10am-12pm
For ages 10-12
In this one-day workshop, students will create a piece of artwork that will be displayed in Plymouth's community event, Walkabout Wednesday! Students will learn how to install their work in the community and families are invited to check out their art show during Walkabout Wednesday!

Home Is Where the HeART Is
August 6, 10am-12pm
For ages 6-9
Fairy gardens, terrariums, gnome homes. It doesn’t matter what you call them, as long as you have fun making them! Using a mix of natural materials and art supplies, students will create a home for a magical creature who could live in our environment.

Citizen Science
August 7, 10 am-12pm
For ages 8-12
Want to be part of real world environmental research? This workshop is designed to inspire action and eco literacy for budding scientists. Participants will get a hands-on experience that will contribute to a larger research project.

Nature Narratives: Storytelling with Art
August 8, 1pm-3pm
For ages 10-12
Students will use collaboration and imagination to create a series of narrative drawings that tell a story about a creature who lives in the White Mountains! After a quick tour of MWM's featured exhibit, students will brainstorm and create a story based on what they learned in the exhibit.

The Magic of Printmaking
August 9, 3-5pm
For ages 6-9
In this fun class we will explore a variety of non-toxic printmaking techniques for children. In this hands-on workshop, using simple materials, participants will have the opportunity to create several one-of-kind prints to take home.
